A unique opportunity to work at the prestigious Ballinglen Arts Foundation. for a select group of ten artists to spend nine days in rural Ireland drawing and painting with artist Randall Graham
The workshop is interned for all levels, although if beginning, some experience is desirable. Randall will provide individualized instruction and criticism. Plein air excursions and varied in-side studio methods, discussions, and presentations will provide the format for an intensive, exciting learning experience. The focus is on the landscape and sea of this part of North Mayo by experiencing first-hand our reaction to the magic of the place and its rich visual and atmospheric milieu.
Randall emphasizes the importance of composition and values. There will be ample opportunity to discuss each other’s work and take a second in-depth look at other diverse international painters throughout history, enriching our understanding.
The class will alternate between the studio and on-location. The emphasis will be outside but weather-dependent. The course is structured with some flexibility, and presented here is the format I will follow, which has been a success for students in previous workshops.
