Chester County Art Association Plein Air Class

  • Chester County Art Association

Enjoy the glories of nature while learning to paint efficiently outdoors as Randall shows the importance of having a plan when plein air painting. Students learn how to choose prime painting locations and improve techniques. Through a combination of demos, lectures and painting, students are taught the importance of value, chroma and hue within the landscape and are given valuable color mixing techniques and recipes. Although geared towards techniques in oil and acrylic paints, watercolor and pastel artists are welcome. Suitable for all artists, beginners to advanced.

Students will meet at a different location every week to paint outdoors.  If there are any weather related postponements, classes will either move indoors or new dates will be added on to the end of the session based on what makes the most sense for everyone's schedules.
